Having started her career as a beauty queen and model, today Nikita Preka is the designer and founder of Preekas Fine Jewelry (@preekas). Through Preekas Fine Jewelry, Nikita showcases her exceptional fashion sense and unique creative style, offering sustainably sourced, exquisite pieces that epitomize elegance and sophistication for modern women.

Tell us about your first encounter with the world of fashion. Did you enjoy dressing up as a child?
I started modeling when I was 14 years old as a hobby, I was invited to a photo shoot by an agent while I was going to school. I didn&rsquo;t like dressing up as a child, I had a tomboy style, I only liked to socialize with boys. I found girls to whiny at that time (Smiling). As I grew up, I started appreciating the femininity and the beauty of being a woman.

How did you receive title of Miss Albania 2018 and how did you feel about it?
I think my profile represents the modern and the traditional Albanian women. As an Albanian woman I appreciate the values of my heritage and no matter where I live, I have those values imprinted on me. On the other hand, I am proud to be part of Albanian women success stories through my educational, career and entrepreneurial achievements.
Why did you decide to study Banking and Finance? Name the most important thing that gave you this education. 
I was one of the best students in Math at school, and since childhood I learned to focus on the things I was good at and use it to my advantage. I am proud of having been able to complete a few challenging qualifications in finance while I was modeling internationally. Without that financial knowledge it would have been challenging to make my business successful.
How did you come up with the idea of creating your own jewelry brand? 
I've always been passionate about fashion, I believe beauty and fashion are imprinted on me, and my mission on planet Earth is to create beautiful timeless pieces.

How do you see a woman who wears jewelry of Preekas Fine Jewelry? 
We don&rsquo;t have a specific profile, we believe that every woman has her unique beauty and superpower. We try to endow every piece with special energy so that once a woman puts on our jewelry, she instantly feels like a Goddess.
Please tell us more about the collections of your brand. 
Zodiac and Stellar collection are an inspiration from the beauty of nature, the elements of the sky, the Sun etc. The inspiration to design the Stellar collection came from a night spent in the desert looking at the sky. Stellar is my first collection and each time I talk about it reminds me of the most beautiful emotions I experienced from the magnificent beauty of the desert and the shining stars.

What jewelry from your collections do you wear yourself? 
I love it all. I have to have a piece of each design, every day I wear a different design based on my look, however our designs are made to effortlessly match any look or style.
Please tell us about your plans for your brand. 
We are rapidly growing in the region. This year we have big plans however is too early to discuss them.
What are your favorite fashion brands? 
I do like authentic, discreet brands. I am not a fan of commercial brands.
Name 3 countries/cities/places that have made the biggest impression on you.
New York. It's impressive how dynamic and vibrant it is. In South Africa I felt very close to nature and the Earth, the Maldives are a heaven for my soul, they are so peaceful.
What nutrition system do you adhere to? 
I like Mediterranean food. I watch out for the serving sizes, I try to eat in moderation, eat organic and fresh food, with loads of vegetables, fruit in moderation and an important protein intake.
What kinds of fitness do you prefer? 
I train regularly at the gym and recently started practicing Pilates.
What is your favorite beauty brand? 
I love Chanel beauty products.

What does your ideal day look like? 
I am a workaholic. If work is going according to the plan, I am very happy. Also having a great laugh with friends or team members, I love positive people they lift up my spirit.
What are your main professional and personal dreams? 
I dream scary big, I cannot share those dreams at the moment, but once I have made them come true, we can plan another interview (Smiling).
