Loewe Spring/Summer 2024 Men's Show
A study on perspective. On how points of view define perceptions and scales, and how perceptions and scales draw silhouettes.
Creative Director Jonathan Anderson had teased the collection recently with a short film by long-time friend, Luca Guadagnino. The short film features not just the collection pieces but also the collection exhibition space.
Staged at the equestrian arena of La Garde Républicaine in Paris, the LOEWE Spring Summer 2024 men’s runway show features works by artist Lynda Benglis: Crescendo, 1983-1984/2014-2015 (Bronze); Bounty, Amber Waves, Fruited Plane, 2021 (Bronze with black patina); Knight Mer, 2007-2022 (Bronze).
Dwarfed by Lynda Benglis’ gigantic, water-spouting fountains, attendees look at the catwalk from a wide angle, and from the bottom up, taken by a certain grandeur. At least, this is what the silhouette entices: legs are long, the waist is high, the bust becomes compact.
