The news came in an official statement from the American brand on @yzy's Instagram page:

With such a succinct statement, YEEZY announced Kanye West's new brand appointment. The Russian designer and photographer's career began with the support of Adrian Joffe (of Dover Street Market founder fame along with Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons), who presented collections and collaborations focused on his signature and post-Soviet aesthetic. Rubchinskiy's success was solidified in 2016 when he was a guest designer at Pitti Uomo. In 2018, the designer's career was cut short due to legal issues.
