Iuliana Matei is a Supermodel from Romania. She has been working in prestigious markets around the world such as Milan, Paris, Madrid, Athens, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and Dubai. She modeled for top brands in the fashion industry like Bvlgari, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Giada Curti, Gucci, Armani, Chopard.

Iuliana had an impressive modeling career with her work is being displayed in magazines such as Elle, L&rsquo;Officiel, Prestige, Luxury, Solitaire.
What makes Iuliana special is her ability to work in all the different areas of modeling: magazines editorials, fashion shows, TV commercials, campaigns, look books or catalogs. She has a huge capacity of adaptation and is very talented in the way she poses. She has the ability to transmit emotions. Her pictures are inspiring. When she walks on the runway she adds a value to the designer through her confidence and elegance.

Tell us about your modeling career.
It started in my home country. I went to an open casting organised by the Bravo Girl! magazine in partnership with MRA models agency and to my surprise I was selected. After working for several local designers and magazines in Romania I received my first international contract in&nbsp; Greece, Athens. Once arrived there I started to book jobs for the Fashion Week Shows, a jewellery catalog and even a TV commercial for Eureka Massalias Soap. During the Athens Fashion Week I walked for designers like Victoria Kyriakides, Makis Tselios and Samantha Sotos. After the success of my first trip I immediately received contracts for Milan, Madrid and Singapore.
What was your first modeling job?
My first modeling job was a fashion editorial for THE ONE magazine in Romania. I loved the Victorian style and the team was very professional so I learned a lot. The shooting was done outside in the woods of a forest and lasted until the nightfall. The lightning for the last shot was a bit challenging but it was a great experience overall.

You worked with so many great photographers and designers, what is the project you are most proud of?
I've had a lot of fantastic jobs. But if I have to mention one in particular that would be for Dior in Singapore. I had the wonderful opportunity to participate at the Dior Marina Bay Sands Grand Opening in Singapore and will always be grateful for this. I love working with Dior, their team is just amazing. The atmosphere was magic and they created such a beautiful show. Dior will remain in my heart forever.
Do you see yourself as a commercial or fashion model?
Definitely as a fashion model. My measurements match the fashion industry perfectly as I am 179 tall and very comfortable to walk on runways for fashion shows. I also fit perfectly the requirements for magazines and editorials. I love to pose and be part of artistic projects and work with creative teams, it&rsquo;s truly exciting.

Did you expect to have such a successful career at the start of it?
Not really. I was lucky to be able to travel and experience markets in Europe, Asia, Middle East. I initially didn&rsquo;t imagine I would be working with designers like Gucci, Bvlgari, Louis Vuitton or Chopard. But I am a hard worker and able to adapt to different cultures. I made it to the top by being flexible in my ways of working. I believe that attitude is extremely important in modeling.
What is your skincare routine?
Make up removal as soon as possible and skin hydration. Drinking water and eating healthy is very important.

What is the most exciting event for you this spring?
Of course, shooting for the April-May issue of L'Officiel Baltic magazine in Paris. I love Paris. It&rsquo;s such a romantic city and wonderful for art, culture and fashion. Just being able to do this shooting next to Eiffel Tower in the heart of Paris gives an incredible feeling.
How do you see your achievements as a model in the future?
I am very proud of my achievements so far. I would be happy to continue working with famous brands. Work relationship is important. I am motivated and intend to continue to shine as a fashion model. There is a category of modeling for each age group and different typologies so I see myself in the industry for a long time.

Anything you would like to share with the girls that want to become models?
Believe in your dreams and never give up. It can be difficult at the beginning but with the right attitude everything is possible.
