The Duchess joined the National Portrait Gallery for a photography competition

<p style="text-align:justify"><strong>Kate Middleton</strong> and the National Portrait Gallery launched a pandemic photography contest in England. The initiative, called Hold Still, invites the public to share pictures of the United Kingdom during this period, focusing on one or more of the following three themes: Helpers and Heroes; It&#39;s new normal; and Acts of kindness.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Participants should also send a short letter to describe the experiences and emotions of the people portrayed in their photographs. The images can be taken on phones or cameras and will be evaluated by the emotion and experience they illustrate, and not by the quality or technical capacity.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The closing date for registration is June 18, after which 100 pre-selected portraits will be presented in an exclusive digital exhibition open to all. A selection of images will also be shown across the UK at the end of the year. The Duchess of Cambridge, who has a known interest in photography, said she hopes the competition will create a collective portrait of the United Kingdom during the pandemic, the change, the funny and the brave.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&quot;We were all impressed by some incredible images that we saw, which gave us an insight into the experiences and stories of people across the country,&quot; Kate said in a statement. &quot;Hold Still aims to capture a portrait of the nation, the spirit of the nation, what everyone is going through at the moment. Photographs reflecting resilience, bravery, kindness - all these things that people are experiencing.&quot;</p>
