Alexander McQueen's latest collection calls attention to silhouette, precision, and deconstruction.

Tailoring&nbsp;is back in&nbsp;Alexander McQueen's Fall/Winter 2023 menswear collection. Creative Director Sarah Burton recalls Lee McQueen's (who passed away in 2010) heritage with attention to power through&nbsp;proportion. Before McQueen became a world-renowned designer, he had a background in tailoring. Though this collection reimagines his early work, Burton adds her own artistic, silhouette-focused vision.&nbsp;
Alexander McQueen's&nbsp;"bumster"&nbsp;was one of his most iconic designs. Debuting in trouser form, the bumster was an overly low-waisted pant that showcased a small portion of the model's buttocks. Eventually, the bumster was made into skirts and other "bottom-focused" pieces. In Alexander McQueen's newest Fall/Winter 2023 collection, Burton contrasts the bumster with&nbsp;high-waisted pants. The extreme length of the pants elongates the leg of the designs.
Orchids are the main&nbsp;motif&nbsp;throughout the collection. Inspired by the flower's "cultivation," Burton utilizes the orchid to adorn the precise tailoring, while also following its lead in the dissection of coats and embroidery. Though heavily focused on&nbsp;silhouette, the&nbsp;menswear&nbsp;collection is not afraid to experiment with volume, featuring large coats, kilts, and coveralls.&nbsp;
The collection will be available in August 2023.
