A Romantic Style Reminiscent of Fall 1999. Viktor &amp; Rolf delivers comfort and romance with a dramatic pull-out.

If the spring-summer 2022 couture season by Viktor &amp; Rolf had enchanted us in the ghostly and dramatic world of the Hollywood in the 90s, this year the duo has explored the transition from bold silhouettes to lighter, more vivid versions.&nbsp;

Rolf Snoeren and Viktor Horsting suddenly appeared on the catwalk and expressed the transition state to the fullest. While the first half of the collection showed designs with the same strong high and horizontal neck structure, creating a feeling of floating in the air, the second half offered a more intimate, flexible and comfortable scene. The presence of the Dutch-born duo has evoked images of the fall of 1999 when the Russian Doll Collection was performed by model Maggie Rizer, who stood on a rotating podium and let both designers put on gorgeous layers.

The important thing is that we want to show the power of this change process

It can be said that Viktor &amp; Rolf had an impressive game with challenging volumes. They've literally changed and turned the tide. From the vertical shoulder-lifting corset, we now see a large horizontal shirt in strong men's suits.&nbsp;"We wanted to do something solid, so men's tailoring was what we needed. Besides that, we also wanted the designs to show not only extremely bold silhouettes, but also very bold silhouettes." From there, the runway opened in navy blue tailor suits, sparkly tuxedo, white shirt and classic plaid, followed by versions of sweatshirts and double-breast suits. All items are accessible to the masses and bring a new, maximum and expanded rate.

After the music stopped, in the middle of the runway, the talented designer duo stepped out and began to change the model's outfit. The striped high collar shirt and vest were gradually removed. That moment, a historic moment unfolded, and that's how fashion is doing with what we consider to be trends or at least couture - must be something extreme, bold, creative and sometimes overdone.&nbsp; Back to the second half of the show, there are still striped outfits, tuxedo shirts, and felt coats of the first part, but a little lighter and more comfortable&nbsp;ignoring the definitions of rebellion in the haute couture line.

It can be seen that the fashion house has drawn a new direction in a gentler and more romantic style, heavy materials such as leather or felt at the first appearance are easy to switch across. We've expected an Haute Couture collection to be sophisticated and difficult to reach the masses.&nbsp; However, not only Viktor &amp; Rolf, most brands have started to move towards the purest, to the simplicity but meticulous in the form. Each fabric and the story returns to reality to help customers understand and apply outfits in daily life. Therefore, Viktor &amp; Rolf not only stops being a dramatic and challenging playground but returns to reality.
