Glitz, glamour, and shining moments: These are the highlights of London Fashion Week

Shortly before Milan and Paris, the attention of the world&#39;s fashion public belonged collectively to the British capital, London. Expectant in a far more exuberant atmosphere than last September, the city was once again filled with the fashion press, VIPs and anyone remotely connected to the industry.

From fashion comebacks and rising talents, London had it all this season. New trends were created and we&#39;ve already been fed heavily with street style inspiration for the season ahead. A must-attend bi-annual stop for fashion lovers, this London Fashion Week was also filled with wow moments, surprises and a whole lot of Caprice. We&#39;ve rounded up the five most exciting fashion moments of the autumn-winter 2022 season from London for you.

Richard Quinn: 
Richard Quinn is a master at combining floral designs with the wicked image of latex. The British designer is already one of the biggest talents in the fashion industry, and we are sure he will have a great career. His penchant for oversized floral prints in bright colours has been with him since his collections at the elite Central Saint Martins fashion school in London. Today, in combination with latex, they have become the trademark of his eclectic designs, making them more modern than ever.

The next internet hype, after the Queen of England even attended one of his shows alongside Anna Wintour, was caused this time by drag queen Violet Chachki, who caused a sensation on the internet in a tight latex bodysuit with her typical micro-waist from the current autumn-winter 2022 collection. Through the lens of show-goers, the images went around the world and generated a fair amount of meme content on Instagram. Richard Quinn, a name you&#39;ll be hearing for years to come.

London Fashion Week Streetstyle: 
Whether you loved or demonized the digitally innovative, virtual fashion weeks, there&#39;s one thing we definitely missed during online Fashion Week at home: and that&#39;s the stylishly originally dressed fashion crowd that also turns the streets far away from the London show venues into a runway. The return to physical shows in London also means that street style is finally back on the agenda. From pieces by the city&#39;s up-and-coming youngster brands (from Nensi Dojaka to Charlotte Knowles) to eye-catching it-buys (including Bottega Veneta&#39;s many statement models and Prada&#39;s cutting-edge sling back heels), the London fashion scene could be particularly excited to pull its finest treasures out of the closet this season.&nbsp;

Maggie Maurer for Nensi Dojaka: 
On the other hand, model Maggie Maurer from New York provided the biggest surprise for the show of Bella Hadid&#39;s favourite designer Nensi Dojak. One of the most sought-after supermodels of our time, she announced her hitherto secret pregnancy on the runway of London Fashion Week in a transparent dress from the Nensi Dojak Autumn Winter 2022 collection.

When she got the call from her agency before London Fashion Week that she should walk for the show of the young designer Nensi Dojak, who is already causing quite a stir on the internet with her designs, the American model&#39;s answer was only: &quot;Awesome.&quot; Because Maggie Maurer had been watching the city&#39;s young star for a while and was keen to support Nensi Dojak. The only catch? She is four months pregnant, and Nensi Dojaka&#39;s clothes are not for the faint-hearted. In any case, the fashion audience let her forget time for a minute in her very own &quot;Maggie moment&quot; and celebrated this wonderful surprise with her.&nbsp;

Glam rock from London: 
London has been known for its punk rock, with founding mother Vivienne Westwood since the mid-1970s at the latest. That punk, or rather punk rock, is not dead, we all know since David Bowie. And so the British capital has also done itself credit on the catwalks when it comes to eccentric beauty trends. Wild, rocking, and super chic grunge and punk looks from the 90s were particularly popular again this season. With blond eyebrows and dark eye make-up, this trend was given a modern twist, which today, unlike back then, looks less grungy but gives it a futuristic touch. From wicked smokey eyes to retro cat eyeliner, the beauty team around Pat McGrath or Anthony Turner showed what London&#39;s underground culture has to offer.&nbsp;

David Koma: 
Star-favourite David Koma, originally from Georgia, applied for British citizenship this year. It was therefore natural that he began to approach his adopted country with a new awareness. Though frowned upon by many, and yet not to be left out of the heart of British entertainment culture, David Koma has been inspired by the culture of English football. Thus, his muses for Autumn 2022 were not supermodels, but athletes and fans, even hooligans. On a visit to the National Football Museum in Manchester, David met pioneering footballer Lily Parr, who played for the Dick, Kerr Ladies Team in the 1920s and 1930s (DKL for short), the same initials as his David Koma London brand. Driven by cohesion and the dignity of women&#39;s football, he infused his latest work with the very spirit of the woman who paved the way for more women on the pitch. And then he simply added a few diamonds.

This unusual linking of high-fashion-unusual design codes of England football with his new looks for next autumn surprised us nonetheless. Rhinestones and knee-high sports socks, hooliganesque bomber jackets and skimpy party dresses, heavy leather and silk characterize this unusual style combination. For the first time, David Koma also ventured into footwear with such a fitting collection theme and designed knee-length overknees with rhinestones for autumn-winter 2022. Sexiness does go with sportswear! Ambivalent, like the Londoners&#39; street style - and so exciting that we all hoped this would be a see-now-buy-now collection.
