What do you think of silk linens? Are they worth the investment? How to choose the right one?

I am a fan of silk bedding. Silk is not only a pleasant touch fabric, but also has a positive effect on the skin and hair. True, there is no scientific evidence to support the undeniable benefits of silk for beauty, but once you try to sleep on silks, you will not want anything else.

Silk fiber absorbs less moisture, making it highly recommended for dry skin and hair owners. In addition, due to its slipperiness and softness, it can protect against so-called sleep wrinkles. This is especially true for those who sleep on their stomachs or sides and get up with incised pillow marks (this change is most obvious to me). In addition, silk is said to protect hair from felting and breakage, is resistant to mold, fungus and dust mites, does not cause allergies and performs its thermoregulatory function perfectly.

When choosing silk covers, first of all, pay attention to the fabric itself. In order for the silk cover to perform its beauty function, it is recommended to choose 100% natural silk. It is Mulberry silk that is considered to be a representative of the highest class, distinguished by its special quality and durability.

Another important nuance is the type of fabric. In terms of the highest quality silk covers, look for&nbsp;Charmeuse, it is&nbsp;characterized by a special softness and lightness and has a slightly muted luster.

Another important criterion is the density of silk. The denser, heavier, less wrinkled the longer it will last.

Covers can be found on the market for both 10 and 200 euros, but real, good, high-quality silk cannot cost little. If the silk cover is suspiciously cheap, it is already a signal that it can be made not of real silk or processed not by hand, but by machines that tear the silk and reduce the quality of the final product. In addition, lower quality paints, cheaper finishes and even illegal labor can be used in the process. Such linens are unlikely to have the qualities attributable to quality silk and will not have a significant impact on sleep, skin or hair.

These technical indicators are a good starting point, but before buying silk covers, I also recommend that you consult the manufacturer and, if possible, just touch the cover.
