With OMBRE ESSENTIELLE, C&eacute;cile Paravina sketches out a new generation of eyeshadows. She cultivates the idea that makeup is, in essence, the art of being yourself. When C&eacute;cile Paravina designed the colour palette for the new OMBRE ESSENTIELLE, she drew inspiration from CHANEL&rsquo;s rich and timeless heritage. Working with the CHANEL Makeup Creation Studio, she reinterpreted 14 shades, making a connection between her own creative world and the House colour heritage with every one of them.
As such, she created Beige Suede, inspired by the colour of the iconic sofa in the 31 rue Cambon apartment. Gris Paris, the same shade of gray as the rooftops in Paris, the birthplace of Mademoiselle&rsquo;s creations; and Brun Fauve, a brown the colour of the lion, her totem animal and astrological sign.
There is also Blanc Perle, which recalls the strings of pearls that embellished her outfits with their delicate, moonlike glow, and Bois Noir, the shade of black that she so daringly mastered and made the colour of elegance, as well as Lilas Poudr&eacute;, a lilac that is reminiscent of the House&rsquo;s tweeds.
Rose Charnel evokes the rosy flush one is left with after a day spent outdoors, Bl&eacute; d&rsquo;Or Antique is a golden hue suggestive of wheat, Gabrielle Chanel&rsquo;s ultimate good luck charm, and Rouge Cosmos is a shade of red, the colour of life, whose strength and power she coveted. Brun Talpa is a brown that echoes the casualness of the weathered jackets worn by the Duke of Westminster, the epitome of chic for Mademoiselle.
Quartz Fum&eacute;, which evokes the smoky quartz gemstones of which she was especially fond, and Rouge Cuir, the colour of the lining inside the 2.55 handbag. Jade Facett&eacute;, a pastel green, recalls the tweeds that Gabrielle Chanel designed for her summer silhouettes, and Beige Sable brings to mind the sandy beaches of Deauville, which inspired a great many House creations.
