In the new fragrance Kurky, Francis Kurkdjian decides to abandon seriousness and calls for something we often lose along the way to adulthood: lightness, imagination, and genuine joy. It's as if he's saying, &ldquo;Let's be a little silly&rdquo; &mdash; but in the language of haute perfumery. And he does so with subtle, ironic tenderness.

Kurky is playful, kooky and quirky!

&ldquo;I wanted to create a fragrance that awakens the inner child. It's an invitation to look at life through a rainbow of colors and not take yourself too seriously,&rdquo; explains Francis. For him, Kurky is a way to remember that being an adult doesn't mean giving up your dreams, and that adulthood can coexist with candy and silliness.
The name of the fragrance is also part of the game. Kurky is not a marketing ploy, but a nickname that close friends have called Kurkjan since childhood.

Indeed, Kurky sounds as if someone has put sneakers on under a formal suit. It does not disrupt the elegance, but rather makes it lively and human. The fragrance features notes of peach, raspberry, vanilla, and musk, which together give the impression of a soft toy, an airy cloud, or a sweet candy. But despite all its brightness, Kurky never becomes cloying &mdash; on the contrary, it is airy, almost transparent.

Kurky easily stands out among the House's other fragrances. It is a manifesto against the rigidity of perfumery, a reminder of how important it is not to lose the ability to play and be amazed. It seems to ask you to stop, look at the sky, and guess the shape of a cloud, rather than just wait for the rain.

The visual image of the fragrance complements the mood. The packaging is designed in the style of French calligraphy notebooks, with &ldquo;mistakes&rdquo; in the surname and school scribbles that Kurkjan drew himself &mdash; like a boy in class. The colors are vintage green and orange, with a hint of warm nostalgia for the 70s.

&ldquo;Genius is childhood regained,&rdquo; he quotes Baudelaire. And adds: &ldquo;Creation is a way of regaining childhood. My perfumes have always had this element of playfulness.&rdquo; Kurky is no exception. It is a fragrance for those who still know how to dream with their eyes open.
