L’Oréal Paris’ Best Collaboration of All Time
Karl Lagerfeld's name has become legendary in the fashion industry, but the designer always had a special affection for make-up. Therefore, the fact that L'Oreal Paris and Karl Lagerfeld teamed up seems obvious. Firstly, the fashion designer used eyeshadows for his sketches, as there were more colours to choose from, and they were more conventional than pencils or markers. That was, however, a real challenge for seamstresses, since there weren’t as many colourful fabrics as there were eyeshadows. Lagerfeld’s top 3 favourite colors were black, white, and red - a variation that can be found in his make-up collection designed with L'Oreal Paris. As Karl passed away before the work was finished, his team completed the collaboration consisting of a mascara, two eyeliners, six lipsticks, an eyeshadow palette, and a highlighter. The lipsticks come in the shades of pink, red, and orange, their pigment is powerful, and the formula is very easy to apply. The names of the lipsticks are a reference to Karl’s signature letter K: Kontemporary, Ironik, Provokative, and Kultured. Another highlight of this collection is the eyeliners, available in black and metallic shades. A cherry on the cake is the Maskara, an intense black mascara perfect for a chic look.
