If you follow Jacquemus closely, you couldn't have missed this story revealing something resembling a shoebox with the words "Jacquemus" and "Repetto" on it. One photo could have started a rumor: Jacquemus will soon reveal a collaboration with France's most talented dance shoe maker.
And now, the official announcement: Jacquemus and Repetto present a collaboration that will be part of the designer's next Les Sculptures collection - Les Zizi Repetto Jacquemus.
Jacquemus gave a glimpse of his vision of "ballerinas" at the latest fashion show, Le Chouchou, and their hybrid version, where the shoes turn into mule shoes or loafers, replacing the traditional round toe with a square one. This collaboration with Repetto is not about ballerinas, but about a new interpretation of the Zizi brogue, Serge Gainsbourg's favorite shoe model, which comfort seduced him to the point where he decided to make LES ZIZI JACQUEMUS. The fashionable twist from Jacquemus is a square toe and a round heel in a unique play of geometry, reminiscent of ballet shoes as the beginning of the House's movement. This new model is handmade in Repetto's workshops in the Dordogne and celebrates the exceptional craftsmanship and vision of the designer.
