The online luxury retailer unveils an exciting series of capsule collections from  Japan’s most influential menswear brands.

In continuation of previous series &ldquo;Made in California&rdquo; and &ldquo;Vive la France,&rdquo; MR PORTER&rsquo;s latest series of capsule collections sees the online luxury menswear retailer celebrate Japanese designers with &ldquo;<a href="https://www.mrporter.com/mens/list/the_japan_edit" target="_blank">The Japan Edit</a>.&rdquo; The collection, which launches on <a href="https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/" target="_blank">mrporter.com</a>&nbsp;today Monday, May 6, features 122 pieces of clothing, shoes, and accessories from 15 prominent Japanese brands.

&ldquo;The Japan Edit&rdquo; launches alongside a vibrant visual campaign by artist Mr Tishk Barzanji, which illustrates Tokyo nightlife, classic Tokyo architecture, traditional Japanese watering holes, and the modern tea room.

MR PORTER buyer Daniel Todd&mdash;who worked for more than a year to bring this project to life, says of the collection that rather than giving the brands a specific brief, they let them share their own take on what Japanese style is. As a result, each, each capsule showcases what each brand does really well. Indeed, Todd shares that the uniqueness of Japanese menswear lies in the fact that it is so varied but the common thread that ties all these brands together is the craftsmanship, the quality of the textiles and the attention to detail.

The series features a mix of brands MR PORTER already had a relationship with, like Wacko Maria, Blue Blue Japan, and Beams Plus, as well as new brands such as Human Made, Auralee, Needles and Ambush. Amongst the pieces that people can look forward to shopping, there is an oversized bomber jacket by The Soloist made entirely of vintage American flags. Each jacket is completely unique and will come in very limited quantities because of the rare nature of the fabric. Other key pieces include Needles tracksuits, a heavily studded statement leather jacket by Blackmeans and Camp-collar shirts from the Wacko Maria X Fragment collaboration. The shirts are very on trend, with one donning an exclusive print by American tattoo artist Tim Lehi. Auralee is offering traditional Japanese tailoring with a contemporary edge, as is Kapital, whose capsule features shirts with traditional shapes but constructed with patchwork bandanas.
