Linda Groth: A Modern Explorer

Your looks vary so much across different photos. How would you describe yourself?

It’s not easy! We’re constantly evolving, and many of these changes are influenced by our surroundings. Overall, I love to laugh—especially at myself. Sincerity, self-expression in every area of life, growth, and, most importantly, the freedom to be myself are essential to me.

Why are travels such a big part of your life?

For years, I’ve practically lived as a nomad. I grew up in a middle-class family in a small town near Berlin. Back then, my heroes were Huckleberry Finn and Pippi Longstocking. As long as I can remember, I dreamed of grabbing a backpack one day and heading into the unknown—and that’s exactly what happened. After finishing school and studying English while figuring out where life might take me, I found myself in New Zealand. Since then, I’ve never stayed in one place for long. I’m deeply grateful for every piece of knowledge, every person I’ve met along the way, and every experience. They’ve all helped me grow into the woman I dreamed of becoming as a little girl.

What are some of your favorite places and travel routes?

One place that left a deep impression on me is the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles. Driving along it with the wind in my hair, admiring the stunning sunset, and recalling all the movies where I’d seen that very scenery—it was magical. A thought kept echoing in my head: nothing is impossible. Another paradise I was fortunate enough to visit is Bahia in northeastern Brazil. It’s an incredible place with emerald jungles, graceful women radiating pure joy, and the most delicious tropical fruits. Bahia vibrates with happiness, a kind I’ve never felt anywhere else. I can’t wait to return.

How do you define the concept of "femininity"?

I believe femininity can manifest in many ways: in softness, in care, in self-respect, and in the strength to break outdated stereotypes and live by your own rules. For me, there’s no single definition. One thing I know for sure is that modeling has helped me understand and embrace my feminine side. Being in front of the camera, learning how to pose, and participating in fascinating projects have all boosted my confidence.

How do you stay in shape physically?

As a child, my parents took me hiking every weekend. Long walks became a staple in my life and still help me stay fit while also clearing my mind. I also alternate between yoga, Pilates, and gym workouts to keep things varied based on my mood. And, of course, I try to maintain a balanced diet.

What external qualities do you think attract the most positive attention?

As cliché as it sounds, I believe in smiling and engaging with the world. Making a positive impression isn’t about how perfectly dressed we are but about how we present ourselves and make others feel around us.

What role do social media play in your life?

Social media is an important tool for me. It’s a space where I express my ideas and showcase different aspects of my work and personality. I especially value the ability to connect with like-minded people worldwide—it’s been my most significant source of inspiration in recent years. Sometimes, online conversations even turn into real-life coffee meetups that spark incredible ideas. That said, I approach the digital world with caution. The constant flow of information can create an illusion of endless availability, foster perfectionism, and harm self-esteem. These can negatively impact mental health, so I regularly take intentional breaks from the internet.

What do you do in your free time?

My curiosity often keeps me moving. You might find me scuba diving with manta rays off the coast of Indonesia, making new friends during a jog, or petting every cat I encounter on the street. On the flip side, I have moments when I need to recharge, and I treasure those times of quiet. Slow mornings, walks in nature, and moments with my closest loved ones are almost sacred to me. I believe maintaining a healthy balance is the key to everything.

Do you have a goal or dream?

Besides continuing my modeling career, I’d love to explore other creative facets of my life. For example, last year, I shot my first short film, Dreams, in Paris, where I co-wrote and acted in it. Seeing my ideas come to life in a historic hotel near the Moulin Rouge and working alongside passionate people made my heart race. I believe in miracles and am ready for whatever the future holds.
