Fendi FW 2022 Couture in Details

A first for Fendi, the house unveils high jewellery creations, a move that could mark a new direction for the brand. Titled Fendi Flavus, the parure is designed by Fendi scion and the house's recently appointed Artistic Director of Jewellery, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, and named after the Latin word meaning "yellow" or "blonde," as a tribute to the house’s Roman roots.

The high jewellery necklace, earrings and cocktail ring glisten with showers of pavé and white diamonds, which provide a dazzling backdrop for the inverted FF monogram designed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1965. Each design is accented with breathtaking flashes of natural yellow baguette-cut diamonds, illustrating a beautiful iteration of light and movement. In tandem with the timeless elegance of the Haute Couture collection, the harmonious blend of white and vibrant yellow diamonds displays a sophisticated twist on colour and light, showcasing the atelier’s artisanal excellence. 

Composed of over 1,000 stones, the Flavus necklace is a symmetrically pointed cascade in white gold and yellow gold, accentuated with varying lengths of double-stranded diamond solitaires. At the core of the piece lies a magnificent yellow emerald-cut diamond, flanked by the inverted FF motif at opposing corners. Reminiscent of a Roman fountain, the alluring necklace melds Fendi’s unique savoir-faire and Delfina Delettrez Fendi’s fascination with the relationship between kinetic forms and the human body, creating an illusion of fluidity. 

Exemplifying the theme of flow and jewels, the Flavus earrings feature two mirrored cascades, echoing the same expression of the FF monogram in yellow baguette-cut diamonds, centred around a brilliant emerald-cut diamond. The Flavus ring mimics the same construction, in a single bold 360° gesture.
