The call of history: Dior Men SS 2024 collection - an homage to the house designers
When creating something new, it is definitely worth being inspired by someone reputable. This is exactly what Kim Jones did with his new men's collection: it was an homage to the previous designers and artists of the fashion house. Maestro took the most iconic and reworked it into something fresh and futuristic for Dior in 2024.
Yves Saint Laurent gave clothes volume, folds and cutouts, Gianfranco Ferre - massive embroidery on jackets and vests reminiscent of the times of the designer, and Marc Bohan gave them soft textures.
Each look impressed the audience with lightness, playful modernity, functionality and carefree luxury. Despite the variety of styles, every mix looked natural and smart - even fantasy beanie hats paired with sandals and a tweed coat. The combination of classic silhouettes and shades with neon, animal prints and chunky loafers looked quite fresh. It allowed for a balance between formal and casual: soothing black, gray, beige and ivory colors accentuated elegance and relaxation, while yellow, pink, lime and blue set the accents.
