Antonio Marras FW25: Drama, Art and Craftsmanship
Antonio Marras shows are always more than fashion. It is theater, visual poetry, a performance where clothes become the language of emotions. In the Fall-Winter 2025/26 season, the designer plays out his new melodrama, combining operatic passions, cinematic mystery and Spanish motifs.
Inspirations include Bizet's Carmen, Luis Buñuel's films The Modest Charm of the Bourgeoisie and This Vague Object of Desire, and La Belle d'Alghero, a forgotten opera from the late 19th century. The entire collection sounds like a dense symphony - rich in detail, feeling and layers of meaning, complemented by deep, mesmerizing music.
Marras' silhouettes are both exquisitely cut and deliberately voluminous. Translucent dresses with Spanish flounces balance on the edge of tenderness and frankness, and velvet puffy sleeves bring back to the aesthetics of the 1980s. Roses-not only the symbol of Catalonia, but also the emblem of passion-appear in hand-drawn prints. Crystal hair ornaments and brooches, catching the light, add a touch of theatrical sparkle to the collection.
Fabrics are mixed like colorful strokes on a canvas: from herringbone tweed and Prince of Wales to velvet, taffeta, jacquard, tulle and silk tweed. Structure is intertwined with softness, strict suits are replaced by romantic, slightly fragile silhouettes, creating the illusion of eternal movement.
Antonio Marras once again creates not a collection, but a universe where fashion becomes art and each image tells a story of love, passion and beauty.
