LOBODA in Jurmala: a packed concert hall, gratitude to Latvia & support for Ukraine
On August 17th, Ukrainian singer LOBODA presented her new show on the legendary “Dzintari” stage in Jurmala. The concert was part of the singer’s global charity tou, just in the past few weeks LOBODA performed in various cities of France, Spain, and Portugal.
Selling out the venue, the artist performed hits from her new album "Made in U" for the Jurmala audience, which became one of the most streamed this spring in Europe and entered the top 25 best albums list according to Apple Music Latvia. Singer’s fans, who didn't get a chance to buy tickets, gathered near the concert hall “Dzintari” to hear their favorite songs.
LOBODA warmly greeted the audience, thanking Latvia for its hospitality and emphasizing the importance of constant support for Ukraine.
“I am very grateful to Latvia for making me and my family feel so welcome here. Despite the twists and turns of fate and transformations, our team's position remains unchanged - we will always stand by my country, Ukraine, and will always help its people,” - LOBODA stated.
The artist added that everyone who bought a ticket for her show contributed to a good cause that evening.
“Today, our concerts all over Europe and around the world aim to raise funds to help Ukraine and rebuild my hometown of Irpin. I am proud of our team and everyone who came to this concert tonight, as you are part of a large and noble cause. Thank you,” - LOBODA addressed the audience over loud applause.
One of the pleasant surprises, in addition to new performances, bright stylistic and visual solutions, was the performance of the track “Spogady”, which caused a passionate response from the audience. Despite LOBODA having released the track just a month ago, the entire hall sang along with the artist to the deeply meaningful lyrics in Ukrainian.
The Ukrainian superstar also noted the special qualities of the Latvians, which made her fall in love with the country that has become her second home.
“I constantly observe audiences in various cities and countries around the world, and after every concert in the dressing room, I tell my team how much I want to go back to Riga. People who live here are very intelligent, well-mannered, and stylish. Thank you for making a place on Earth where I feel so good and comfortable,” - LOBODA admitted.
At the end of the evening, the grateful audience called the singer for an encore several times, and LOBODA reappeared on stage, performing the iconic Ukrainian composition "Shchedryk" by Mykola Leontovych.
Singer’s charity world tour goes on and the closest opportunity for LOBODA's fans to see their idol in person will be in Moldova, Kazakhstan, and the United Kingdom.
