Newly acquired by AMTD International Inc, the partnership will expand L'OFFICIEL's footprint in the metaverse.

The future of&nbsp;L&rsquo;OFFICIEL&nbsp;is in the metaverse. Announcing an exciting step for the magazine, Hong Kong-based financial services company AMTD International Inc has acquired 100 percent of the equity interest in&nbsp;L&rsquo;OFFICIEL&nbsp;Inc, and plans to&nbsp;expand its global footprint both in the physical world and the virtual metaverse.

A natural step for&nbsp;L&rsquo;OFFICIEL,&nbsp;which celebrated its 100th anniversary last year, the magazine has been at the forefront of fashion in the virtual realm. In honor of its centenary in the fall of 2021,&nbsp;L&rsquo;OFFICIEL&nbsp;launched a&nbsp;one-of-a-kind digital museum, The House of Dreams, that featured an NFT exhibition with archival images from&nbsp;L&rsquo;OFFICIEL&rsquo;s&nbsp;100-year history and virtual experiences in partnerships with luxury brands like Dior and Tiffany &amp; Co. Many major players in luxury fashion are moving into the metaverse, or web3, on their own as well, with Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and more creating NFTs and exploring blockchain technology.

Looking ahead, AMTD will open the AMTD x L&rsquo;OFFICIEL land in The Sandbox, a gaming world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands. Titled Fashion Skin, the metaverse project will present a collection of virtual clothing created by applying artificial intelligence to L&rsquo;OFFICIEL&rsquo;s database of over 100,000 exclusive images from its century in circulation. This metaverse initiative marks AMTD and L&rsquo;OFFICIEL&rsquo;s shared interest in embracing innovative projects in media.

In addition to its virtual expansion, AMTD International Group will also focus on building L&rsquo;OFFICIEL&rsquo;s presence in Hong Kong, Macau, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.&nbsp;

Benjamin Eym&egrave;re will continue his role as Chief Executive Officer of L&rsquo;OFFICIEL, while also working on virtual projects as Chief Metaverse Officer of AMTD.&nbsp;
