Marc Forn&eacute;: "Being a stylist gives me a great chance to express myself and to show my vision more than just get dolled up by myself."

How did you choose your professional path?
I believe that&rsquo;s been a real-life process. I sank that feeling of beauty from my mom, my auntie. So it somehow organically developed: I was buying magazines since I was a kid and shopping at thrift stores with my first savings. Getting dressed up and the joy of it was always a thing to me. The dream world of fashion had always been something I was attracted to, so eventually slowly and consciously I entered it and I am continuing my path till today.
Were your parents supporting you with your choice of work?
Yes, they were. Despite this they didn&rsquo;t know much about the social media world at the beginning and thought it was a dangerous choice, and so did I, honestly. It&rsquo;s very volatile. But the moment they&rsquo;ve seen where fashion and the internet can take you, they approved it. It was a wild ride but no matter what they were and still are always by my side!

How did your transition from the influencer to the stylist begin?
You know, at one point I was a bit unsatisfied with the way I was working. Just had a feeling like all that I had to see and experience should take me elsewhere so I wanted to take a chance on a new field related to my realm. To be honest, I always need to try new things! I&rsquo;m lucky that I didn&rsquo;t miss any opportunities on my way because they lead me to this styling world. Being a stylist gives me a great chance to express myself and to show my vision more than just get dolled up by myself. Looks that I am creating on people last longer in time and get more respect.

What is your favorite editorial photoshoot that you did as a fashion editor and stylist?
I had many fun moments and shoots but one of the most memorable is my first cover for ODDA Magazine. We did it together with my friend and the editor-in-chief of ODDA Magazine David Martin. We were in the Canary Islands shooting Yeray, an amazing soul, it was so much fun connecting nature and fashion, telling a whole story &ndash; this is my favorite part. I guess when you talk through fashion and you are traveling for a reason to support it, it makes more sense! At least to me (laughing).

Did you have any stressful situations that made you hesitate about continuing to work as a stylist?
There were many of those. It was incredibly stressful for me to make a career twist into such a different way of working, but it&rsquo;s been a matter of time and learning plus a lot of support and guidance. After a while, I started to enjoy it without the suffering and anxiety that fashion can very easily come with.
Who was your first celebrity client?
It was Manu Rios. I can say that we started this journey together, and we&rsquo;ve been friends for years now so I couldn&rsquo;t have asked for a better start.

It sounds amazing! Is it hard to keep a work-friendship balance?
We have a very healthy friendship so we enjoy working together and probably soon there will be more joint projects. We found a good balance &ndash; being honest and respectful is our core values.
Can you describe the process of how you create a celebrity look?
I guess doubting is part of the job, but I usually have always a gut feeling about looks. I see the clothes and immediately get the feeling that this person is going to look great in them. My imagination works fast: once I understand the person, I can dress them as if it was me.

Where do you get the inspiration?
I have no answer to this but I&rsquo;m pretty sure it is all one big mix of inspiration from every single thing I see &ndash; friends, people walking down the street, traveling or just watching a movie. Inspiration has always come in so many ways but I&rsquo;ve never searched for it purposely, I guess it is more of a random feeling for things I genuinely like.

What collaborations were the most interesting and with whom would you like to work in the future?
That&rsquo;s a very interesting question. I loved working with Troye because collaborating with a musician was so different from working with actors. I am dreaming to style so many people but for instance, such an icon like Brad Pitt could be so fun to do.

Have you ever thought about becoming a creative director of any brand?
I have never thought about that, being a creative director means having a ginormous level of involvement in a brand&rsquo;s life and I&rsquo;m not sure that I&rsquo;d be capable of it. But if we dream up, I&rsquo;d say I would love to be the creative director of my brand one day!
What do you prefer &ndash; working as an editor, a stylist on shoots, or as a celebrity stylist?
I absolutely adore working with talents! First of all, it is such fun, then my passion is to understand them and create real communication with them that helps me in creating their look based on their personalities and alter egos. But speaking about photoshoots, you can always create much more and fetch it in memory, paper, and time. I like the diversity of things I can do &ndash; it keeps me motivated.
What are your plans for the future?
It doesn&rsquo;t matter what projects are going to happen but I will keep discovering myself and sharing my vision and love with everyone.
